Radar and Weapon Systems

Our range of RF over Fibre solutions provides a suite of ruggedized products that meet the reliability and durability requirements of customers in the Aerospace, Defence & Homeland Security markets.
Two Way Radios
RF over Fibre can be deployed to extend the coverage of a two way radio system where copper runs are either not cost effective, unable to be run and there is already fibre in place, or for a new installation where you want to improve the engineering of the radio system from day one.
Wireless Broadcast Systems
Rf over Fibre can be used to extend the range of Wireless Camera’s, Microphones and IFB systems. Systems like this have been deployed extensively in many sports including Motor Racing, Horse Racing, and outdoor track events where the field of play is large.
Satellite Communications & GPS
RF over Fibre is used extensively in the Satellite Communications market. If offers a cost-effective way of transporting signals from antenna to transceiver equipment, especially when there is a considerable distance. This also means that new facilities can be designed with less reliance on being physically co-located next to the antenna farm.
Why RF over Fibre performs better
Essentially, the frequency at which you operate and the cable length (and type) are directly proportional to the loss of that system. IE: A 100m cable running a 100MHz signal will be less lossy than a 500m cable running a 10GHZ signal.
Because of these losses, RF over Fibre is the right choice for delivering low-loss solutions across a wide band of frequencies. Because the loss of optical cable is negligible, the quality and level of the RF signal can be maintained over very long distances. This lowers the cost of ownership and improves signal-to-noise, regardless of the copper alternative.

For a little more detail, RF over Fibre can come in stand-alone, rack mount or outdoor IP rated enclosures, it can be uni or bi-directional, we can offer USB or SNMP control and BiasT to power remote antennas. We now also have a range of premium high SFDR RF over Fibre products for those mission critical applications. Units are available in 1310 or 1550nm with MUX options as well!
